Only thing I can say for sure is buy from reputable sources. PSA slabs have watermarks and tracking on their website too so you can cross reference all that. Although its not impossible to just print that on a fake label either.

Ya sadly, they are able to get away with it because of how popular they are. There are companies that do give full transparency. But I believe it can swing both good and bad so from the seller's perspective its not the end of the world.

Hmm absolutely a bug haha. But rare candies are basically a currency so all the bug does is save you some time!

I believe it increases the accuracy of Pokemon by one stage. Can't remember for sure. I almost never use it.

@@acegamestv I went over bored with this set to be honest I would say iv spent around £700 on paldean items and then spent another £300 getting all the cards I don’t have but I really enjoy collecting them so I don’t really mind the money side of it but I make sure I hide it from the wife 😂😂

Sounds like you made money! Pretty cool! That's what's keeping me addicted to this tbh. Its like gambling but with a decent chance to make some money back, and a low chance to make more money than you spent. I can see myself producing a lot of content on this channel like that! Still exploring the best ways to finance it and make smart investments.

I talked about it a bit in the first episode. TLDR, RPGmakerXP has a module you can download called Pokemon Essentials, that gives you the framework to create a pokemon game. I basically used Pokemon Reborn as my base though, as I liked a lot of the tech and graphics from it. Then just added and created what I needed! Its easier than it sounds, but a lot of leg work.

Ya, I agree its not attractive at all. If you are doing it just for personal collection, enjoy! I feel like it would be like collecting dollar bills though. you know how much money you are losing in the process, that you HAVE to eventually regret it right? Even with the ugly slab, PSA ensures the future of these cards might mean you get your money back if not way way more. That to me, is just more valuable, because at the end of the day the CARD is what I look at, not the plastic around it.

That's why I was scouting the 9s or even 8s. If you want raw cards it would be super cheap too. I'd like the reprint myself just so the packs are cheaper and not being scalped. But I bought every card I wanted from the 151 set other than the venusaur and it was all under 500 bucks for graded 9 and higher. Japanese is cool, but I like being able to read the text haha. If I just wanted the art, I could print the images out myself.

@@acegamestv I have a mix match of 151 in Japanese as well as English and I'm kind of upset I did that. I don't enjoy owning multiples of the same card even if the language is different so I have to make a decision if I want to bank on English getting a reprint or if I should just go with the Japanese cards to save money. I've also never bought graded cards personally so I'm not super familiar but you got some good ones there!

The bag is one of those resealable pouches, I have a ton of them. I don't need the sticker, or the bag to stay closed either way. Its already inside a bubble mailer inside paper inside a box lol...

@acegamestv true but they don't know that, it's hard to not do everything a standard way, plus think about it being in storage at their warehouse the bag protects it when they have to move it. You get one customer that complains and it could be a problem for their reputation so I don't think it's about shipping maybe more for their storage and handling. Cool vid though

@@Deadpandemiccomics Well I am in favor of the bag for sure. Just not having to now throw out the bag because of the nonsense sticker on it. No one else ships cards like this, and as you have seen I have purchased a lot.

Obviously I see PSA as the best resale value, but I have to say, that SGC card I got is amazing looking. I love it! I will probably try to sell it as is, and if it doesn't go I'll just keep it. @@acegamestv Yeah, the quality of the grade can be as good or better than PSA (especially with what seems like inconsistent criteria at PSA) but the name of the company is what gives it the most valuable. Some nice bargains in this vid for sure either way!

Absolutely. I did a full rebalance of every single pokemon playable in the game. For example, I added abilities called "draconic." Its like "steelworker" which was in the vanilla games. Steelworker makes steel type moves effectively STAB, so Draconic is the same with Dragon moves. I gave this as a hidden ability to Charizard for example. So if you have this ability, Charizard has stab on Flying, Fire, and Dragon moves. I also changed a ton of types. For example made Machamp Fighting Rock type. And Blastoise Water Fighting type, Yanmega Bug Dragon, etc.

I love it too! Gen 1 pokemon are my favorite, but Johto is my favorite region!

You mean a game that isn't Pokemon? Probably some step you are missing here. Pokemon fan games are very popular and quite common. There are HUNDREDS if not thousands if you include rom-hacks. This is just the one I made, which features exactly what I would like in a Pokemon game. I didn't make a game that is pokemon. I made a version of pokemon that is perfect for me. No interest in making an unique IP.

Hmm don't remember honestly. I did this for a few starters, like Kingler etc. Basically just wanted to rush the player to the version of the pokemon that is adequately strong to be ready for the first gym. I also changed a lot of the opening routes pokemon so that they evolve ahead of the first gym or two as well, for example.

Also the reason Seadra got graded lower is again the boarders, look at your haunter and then look at Seadra; you'll see Seadra's top boarder is way thicker than the bottom boarder; it's a matter of bad setting of the card cutting Atleast it was less bad compared to the Rhystic study's rotation, so i'd imagine that's why it didn't lose more

Ya I didn't really know anything about his process when I sent them in frankly. The magic cards just don't seem to be something worth grading anyway unless they are super old.

Ya the people who make the Pokemon games clearly aren't interested in anyone older playing the games. But the fan games out there are ten times better than mine tbh. I just made one specifically for my tastes.

I haven't played a fan game since I started making mine tbh. It has everything I'd want, albeit it's a bit dated in technology at this point. I did give rejuv another try after I learned you can play it on your phone now. But it's so unwieldy it's hard to enjoy it for long.

Gotcha, I took the advice of some one early on in the process and I guess I got my head up in the clouds. He thought the Blastoise was at least a 7 so I just compared all the other cards to it haha. Ya live and ya learn! They are still selling well even at 5 so it's all good.

Ya I won't really be planning on keeping any of these but I really do like the PSA slabs. My next fascination is to use the money I make from the cards to reinvest into the 151 PSA cards.

I believe I explained that all in the video, but I'll try to summarize. Its not a romhack, first of all. Its a Pokemon fan game, so the base is Pokemon Essentials, which is a module for RPGmakerXP. But my specific game I basically used Pokemon Reborn (probably like episode 14) as a base and just deleted all the content there and made my game and region over the top of it. That's why you'll see some menus and stuff the same between those two games. Lemme know if you have any further questions!

Oh, ya well that's a good thing! You have your whole life ahead of you. If you are serious about collecting cards now, talk to your parents or guardian and let them know its a passion of yours and your goals. Any parent wants to see their child happy, and if you communicate accurately, they can help you reach your goals easier before you eventually have the funds to buys stuff for yourself.

I agree to a degree. It costs wayyyyy too much for what it is. It's always way too imperfect. But to be fair that seems to be something other companies are trying to fix. With a more transparent and accountable grading scale, it would be a lot more obvious if it's worth paying for or not. Now I also disagree. Collecting cards is almost oxymoronic in some ways to me. It's just cardboard and everything could be ruined in an instant if the cart is even remotely bent. PSA grading increase the stability of the card and adds real value no matter what we think about the process. It's just not enough to pay 25 dollars for it and have it taken two months.

@@acegamestv yeah I like the concept of graded cards but the randomness of actually receiving an accurate grade is a huge negative. When you consider the fact that the grade has monetary value attached to it, giving people the wrong grade is artificially creating/destroying value and I think that should be taken more seriously. Clear grading criteria/feedback could easily fix this issue, but they don’t provide that, wonder why? I just think it’s shady in general, and while I do buy slabs I wouldn’t pay a grading company’s fee for the chance to gamble on them doing their job correctly.

Ya, sadly it seems like a huge rip off if you actually intend to sell cards. There are cards that SHOULD sell well, but PSA charges so much they will never be valuable.
